[Workshop] Introduction to quantum programming organised by the Quantum Technologies Graduate School @ Institut de Recherche en Informatique Fondamentale (IRIF)

The Quantum Technologies Graduate School is organising a one-day introductory session on quantum programming, led by Vivien Londe, a quantum computing specialist at Alice&Bob. The aim of the day is to implement well-known quantum algorithms using a quantum software development environment through two practical classes.

Program

9 am-12 pm: Phase estimation

In the morning session, explore quantum phase estimation, a key idea behind future breakthroughs in computing and chemistry, and how to implement it.

2 pm-5pm: Hamiltonian simulation

In the afternoon session, discover how quantum computers can help us simulate quantum systems and estimate their energy.

Prerequisites

No prior quantum programming is required, but basic knowledge of python and quantum information is recommended.

The workshop is taught in english.

All quantum Masters and PhD students, postdocs and academics from Université Paris Cité are welcome to register.

Please note that this session is free but registration is mandatory since attendance will be limited.

Imagining Tomorrow’s Resilience: Projects by the 2026 Cohort of the Master’s in Risk and Crisis Engineering

On Monday, March 31, students from the Master’s program in Risk and Crisis Engineering (IRC), part of the Graduate School Sustainability & Transitions, presented the results of several months of work carried out at the request of the Graduate School’s partners on the theme: “Imagining the resilience of tomorrow: territories, infrastructures, and organizations facing contemporary crises.” Lire la suite Imagining Tomorrow’s Resilience: Projects by the 2026 Cohort of the Master’s in Risk and Crisis Engineering

[FIRE Call for applications] Meet our PhD students FIRE!

The Frontières de l’Innovation en Recherche et Éducation (FIRE) Doctoral School is an international and interdisciplinary PhD program accredited by the Université Paris Cité (UPCité) and co-accredited by the Université Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL).
FIRE welcomes students who are passionate about contributing to Planetary Health and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It hosts research projects that often fall outside the scope of traditional doctoral schools due to their unconventional and cross-disciplinary nature. We interviewed three of our PhD students, who shared their thesis topics, explained why they chose the FIRE doctoral school, and offered advice for the next cohort.
