From 6 to 17th of July 2026, Université Paris Cité Medical School will run two cutting-edge summer schools in parallel as a two-week intensive program. One dives into artificial intelligence and digital innovation applied to medicine, while the other offers an immersive introduction to skills and clinical practice through simulation workshops and bedside teaching. These two complementary courses are not only shaping the future of healthcare but also immersing participants in the real-world needs of patients, clinicians, and health care systems.
Upon completion, all participants will receive a Université Paris Cité certificate and the relevant ECTS credits.

Artificial intelligence and digital innovation in medicine

The program combines morning lectures with afternoon hands-on workshops, enabling participants to understand – and then apply – digital tools that are transforming modern medicine.

The training is structured around three main modules:

  • Foundations of AI and digital health in medicine (machine learning, digital twins, telemedicine, wearable devices, AI-powered drug discovery, and more);
  • Clinical applications across specialities (including emergency medicine, radiology, surgery, paediatrics, transplantation, and pathology, among others);
  • Ethics, data protection, and regulatory frameworks, across different international contexts.

Led by experts from the Medical School and the AP-HP hospital network, this summer school is open to undergraduate medical students, physicians, engineers and data scientists seeking an interdisciplinary approach. Participants will gain practical skills besides expanding their professional networks.

Hands-on training in clinical medicine and emergencies

This immersive course draws on the clinical expertise of faculty members and the resources of the AP-HP hospital network to provide high-impact, hands-on training.

The program is built around two main modules:

  • Foundations of clinical medicine, with training in core physical examination skills and essential procedures (suturing, lumbar puncture, intubation, and more), complemented by small-group hospital placements in teaching wards.
  • Emergency care procedures, including the management of haemorrhages, cardiac arrest, unexpected deliveries, and airway obstruction. Participants will also complete the official Basic Life Support (BLS – AFGSU level 2) course and obtain certification.

This summer school is primarily designed for undergraduate medical students who wish to strengthen their clinical skills in an interactive and demanding learning environment.
