Course overview
The Molecular and Cellular Biology (BMC) Master’s degree provides a high-level theoretical and practical education in molecular, structural and cellular biology, offering an integrated vision of the molecular, cellular and functional properties of biological systems, necessary for understanding physiological and pathological processes.
Students specialize from first year (M1) onwards in the study of the immune response in normal and pathological situations such as infections, cancer and autoimmune or inflammatory diseases, and explore new immunotherapies. The BMC master’s program offers training in and through research, and is progressive from M1 onwards, enabling students to opt for the English-taught year 2 (M2) in:
+ Immunology, with an Advanced Immunology (IA) track
+ Immunology and immunopathology (I2P) track
During the M2, students pursue a compulsory 6-month work placement in an experimental research laboratory.
Skills and competencies developed
The Immunology course in the BMC Master’s program provides training through and in research, integrating the acquisition of the most advanced fundamental, clinical, applied and technological knowledge in the field. These skills are practiced in a professional environment during the 6-month internship in an experimental research laboratory.
+ Understand how the immune system functions during development and in pathological situations. Be familiar with recent advances in immunotherapy.
+ Be familiar with and apply both conventional and cutting-edge technologies in the field of immunology.
+ Contribute to the realization of a fundamental or applied research program, with a written report, oral presentation and critical analysis.
