Course overview
The Master’s programme in In Silico Drug Design (ISDD), included in the Master’s degree of Bioinformatics, was created in response to growing demand from both the pharmaceutical industry and academia to train students in this rapidly expanding field in France and Europe. Interdisciplinary in nature, with a strong focus on Health Sciences, the ISDD Master’s programme benefits from the collaboration of several universities, private companies, and international experts.
The programme aims to provide comprehensive training in all aspects of drug discovery using in silico (computer-assisted) approaches.
Skills and competencies developed
- In silico research training in the discovery of bioactive compounds, with preparation for further doctoral studies.
- Skills development in rational exploration of chemical space to support the discovery of bioactive molecules, by combining artificial intelligence, molecular dynamics and virtual screening approaches for predicting the impact of xenobiotics on human health.
- Career readiness, enabling graduates to participate in or lead in silico drug design projects within pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry companies, as well as in organizations developing chemicals or specialized software.
