Writing a thesis is a difficult task because it involves moving from producing research to transcribing it clearly and thoroughly in writing. Taking a structured approach to the principles, tools, and methods of writing and presenting your research allows you to tackle scientific writing effectively and calmly.

Module 1 : How and why should you write ?

Module 2 : Clarify your writing goal

Avant de poursuivre, les participant·es sont sensibilisé·es à l’importance de construire clairement son objet de recherche et de le rendre apparent dans sa rédaction : exercice de formulation de problématiques et d’hypothèses en groupes.

Module 3 : Identify scientific writing styles and develop your outline

Contenus

  

·         Understand the specific characteristics of the writing styles used by researchers

·         Analyze the characteristics of scientific texts

·         Discover and experiment with different types of outlines

·         Theoretical insights

·         Presentation and practice of tools for creating writing plans – writing dependency graphs

 

Module 4 : From outline to writing

Contenus

  

·         Organize your writing preparation work to ensure clarity of text

·         Develop methods for effective writing

·         Identify obstacles and levers that facilitate writing

·         Discover the features of computer tools for writing (Word/LibreOffice, LaTeX, bibliographic database management)

·         Experiment with functions that are useful for your own research activity

·         Theoretical insights

·         Practice designing SMART objectives

·         Practice using online planning tools

·         Try using bibliography management tools

 

Module 5 : Communicating and promoting your research

Contenus

  

·         Understand the rules of scientific publishing: peer review, editorial ethics, and copyright

·         Address copyright issues related to research

·         Theoretical insights

·         Quiz about the issue of plagiarism
