While a large majority of PhD candidates plan to pursue a career in academic research or higher education, the path to these positions remains complex and highly competitive. Understanding the institutional framework, key players, and recruitment pathways in the sector is therefore essential for building a realistic career plan and a strong application. This training provides a comprehensive overview of the research ecosystem in France from its organization to funding mechanisms while supporting participants in developing a personalized strategy to access research careers.
The main objectives of this training are to enable participants to:
- Understand the institutional and organizational framework of academic research in France
- Identify the various careers and professions in research
- Prepare effectively for recruitment procedures in HER
